I’ve gotten into a bit of a sauce kick recently now that I’m in the groove of meal-prepping and eating the same sort of thing frequently to save time & money; basically, adding sauces means more variety and the opportunity to mix things up. And variety is the spice of life, no? I craved a do-it-all sauce that could go with anything, on anything, anytime and taste dynamite. And let me give you a bit of a spoiler: this creamy avocado sauce ticks all the boxes.
This stuff is tangy, garlicky, sweet and one of the creamiest things I’ve ever eaten. It’s downright perfection accompanying veggies, meats, spread on toast, eaten out of the jar with your finger…you know, mature adult things. It’s also been my go-to for dressing my macro bowls and salads, and let me just say, they have NEVER tasted so good. Plus, it only uses literally the simplest and most common ingredients that I have sitting around in my fridge on the reg, so it’s a breeze to whip up another batch the second I finish the first one. Which has happened…more times than I’m willing to admit.
Packed with healthy fats, fiber, potassium and some amazing healing superfoods (in the form of garlic, lemon and raw honey), you really can’t go wrong. It even has some properties that can fight off infection, which means your immune system is getting a welcome boost! Taste buds happy, body happy, mind happy.
Aw yeah. This is taking avocado toast to a new level. There’s nothing it can’t do. I really don’t have much more to say about this except that you must make it and grace your food with its presence. My new number one staple. Enjoy sweet friends and check out the meals I post daily on my Instagram (@kennedypm) to see exactly how I’ve been using this recipe!
Creamy Avocado Sauce
- 1 large avocado or 1 1/2 small
- 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp raw honey can be omitted if desired/for Whole30
- 4 tbsp water
- salt & pepper to taste
Add avocado flesh, juice of one lemon, olive oil, garlic, honey and water to a blender. Blend until smooth.
Add more water for a thinner consistency if desired. Add salt and pepper to taste and blend again.
Serve with a protein such as chicken, as a salad dressing, as a dip for veggies, or spread it on some toast! Enjoy! Store in the fridge in an air-tight container. But let's be real, it may not even last that long.
