February was crazy busy but packed with lots of fantastic new product finds. Read ahead to see some of my food, natural beauty, and supplement favorites this month!
I am a sucker for a nice treat that packs a huge punch of nutrients/health benefits in one delicious bottle. It’s just too fun and too tasty to not love. I have COMPLETELY fallen in love with the brand REBBL and their delicious super herb elixirs. I first picked up the Reishi Chocolate flavor on a whim, and was floored because it tastes like amazing, rich chocolate milk while still being full of healthy, wonderful ingredients and no nasties–totally paleo, meaning dairy-free, refined-sugar free, yada yada. This Maca Mocha flavor is also so delicious, and I love that it doesn’t have coffee in it since coffee and my migraines don’t really get along. Love it. Next on my list are the Ashwagandha Chai and the Turmeric Golden-Milk.
I’m also a sucker for a good grab-and-go bar with top-notch ingredients. This. Bar. Is. Incredible. It has four ingredients. FOUR. If your curious, the ingredients are: USDA Organic Grass-Fed Whey Protein Concentrate, Organic Digestive Resistant Prebiotic Fiber (From Organic Tapioca) (Non-IMO), Organic Sunflower Butter, Monk Fruit. I just can hardly believe that. 1) Gotta love a grass-fed whey, 2) it’s got prebiotic fiber to feed the good bacteria in your gut to make sure they stick around, 3) you know I love me some sunflower butter–no allergies!!, 4) monk fruit is one of my favorite natural sweeteners. I am SO glad I ordered these bars from Julian Bakery off of Amazon off the cuff (on my never-ending search for the ultimate bar) because I just love them. They taste really good–nice and chewy and sunbutter-y. A little sweeter-tasting than I’d like, but I am still so psyched to eat them whenever I need a snack sometime during my long school days. These bars are DEFINITELY on the top of my list right now for incredible ingredients, health & taste.
This has been my scent for a long time now and for very good reason. It’s just so good. I ran out awhile back and because I’m not a huge perfume person I didn’t reorder until this month and hooollllyyy moly I’ve been missing out. Every time I wear this I get stopped and asked what I’m wearing. It’s been described as “soft,” by some and it’s also quite clean and musky. Definitely not floral at all, just warm and sexy and attractive person smell. If that makes sense. Plus, many scents bother me and give me a headache, and this does nothing of the sort. Sooooo yummy.
As I’ve mentioned a few times before–0ften in these favorites post, so check out past ones if you’d like more natural beauty recommendations–that I’m transitioning over to non-toxic beauty/hygiene/cleaning products. I jumped on the Dr. Bronner’s bandwagon because they’re so affordable, their products are Fair-Trade, organic & non-toxic, and they work. I ordered the whole Peppermint set off of Thrive Market recently and have been loving everything, especially the bar soap. It’s just a damn good soap, and I love knowing I’m not puttin’ any weird chemicals anywhere on my largest organ.
Another non-toxic skincare find! I had run out of my day moisturizer, so I figured I’d replace it with a natural one. Easy peasy, especially when on my first go I picked one that ROCKS. This is the perfect level of moisture for my skin, even in the winter when it’s all I’m wearing, and it doesn’t make my skin oily. Nice. I absolutely love it–plus, it smells great.
This month I wanted to experiment with seriously upping my turmeric intake via a supplement–cause while I do incorporate it daily in My Perfect Daily Smoothie, let’s face it, I just don’t have time to make an extra turmeric latte everyday. The reason being, turmeric is an amazing anti-inflammatory and is known to help people with chronic joint pain. As some of you may know, I’m dealing with Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome in both knees (read more about my injury story here if you’re curious) and honestly, it hasn’t been going great. So, in case it might help, I ordered a turmeric supplement with black pepper (because black pepper seriously ups turmeric’s bioavailability). While there hasn’t been a crazy difference, I have definitely noticed some overall improvement! A little less achy on the day-to-day, which may seem minimal, but is actually a major help when you’re dealing with chronic pain. I take one dose in the morning everyday and it’s been going well!
