Easy Homemade Jam

I have this jam in my refrigerator at all times. It’s the staple of all staples for me. If you’ve ever read any of my What I Eat In A Day posts, seen any of my breakfast bowls on Instagram, or basically ever had a conversation with me, there’s a really high chance I’ve referenced this homemade jam. And while its first appearance was in my “PB&J” Chia Seed Parfait where I gave a brief rundown of how I make it, I figured since I reference it so frequently it should have its own special post. So here we are! Forewarning: this is hardly a recipe. It’s barely squeezed itself into that category because it’s so ridiculously simple. But man oh man, it is so good. I wanted to make a joke somewhere in there about this jam being “my jam,” but it just didn’t fit. At least it’s here now. Anyway.

Easy Homemade Jam

Prep Time 2 minutes
Cook Time 1 hour
Total Time 1 hour 2 minutes

Ingredients

  • 12 ounce bag organic frozen blueberries
  • 12 ounce bag organic frozen strawberries

Instructions

  1. Place a small pot on low-medium heat.

  2. Pour bags of frozen berries into the pot. Leave and let the berries break down for about an hour until bubbly.

  3. Stir, smashing any bits of berry with a fork or potato masher, and reduce heat to low. Let the berries cook down, around 5-10 minutes, until a thick jam has formed.

  4. Remove from heat and store in the refrigerator in an airtight jar!

Recipe Notes

Any berries will do! No need to use strawberries & blueberries, but the combination is nice. Any amount of berries is welcome, the instructions are the same, only a larger batch will take more time and a smaller batch less.

Feel free to add a sweetener like honey if you like, but I find it perfectly sweet without it.
