Listening to podcasts is rad. They’re super entertaining, very informative & can really help me put my best foot forward by focusing my mind on positive subject matter. Here are my top five favorites:
The podcast that made me fall in love with podcasts. Gretchen Rubin is an author & expert on happiness, habits & personality psychology, and on the show her and her sister Elizabeth Craft (a TV writer) discuss Gretchen’s philosophy and research findings–all in a casual, chit-chatty sort of way. They discuss day-to-day strategies towards making your life happier, and provide a ton of insight on how to best utilize your personality type to take hold of your happiness. I have learned so much from this podcast, and it’s truly changed the way I view myself, others & my happiness habits. Plus it’s super uplifting & calming, which makes it perfect for the morning to accompany exercise or a commute.
My number one choice when it comes to entertaining & yet REALLY informative talk about food & nutrition. It’s hosted by Diane Sanfilippo (author of Practical Paleo) & Liz Wolfe (author of Eat the Yolks), and between the two of them, they can confidently cover just about any hot topic in the health & nutrition world. They’re refreshing, mega smart, and hilarious. I can’t stop listening!
Jess Lively is a lifestyle guru who addresses personal topics like habits, our inner-flow & intuition, relationships, travel, and a bunch more lifestyle things that I just can’t get enough of. She’s incredibly self-reflective and shares her personal journey within the podcast, which I find both interesting & helpful in evaluating my own self. I love hearing about her favorite products & what she’s been up to, including currently living abroad indefinitely with only a suitcase to her name.
A podcast dedicated to millennials in today’s society & dissecting what it’s like to live, love & work as a young person in modern America. YouTubers Ingrid Nilsen & Cat Valdes talk openly about sex, relationships, money & the social pressures revolving each of us. They have a great rapport and have me laughing out loud while still encouraging a ton of self-reflection.
5. Women of the Hour
This fabulous podcast is hosted & created by Lena Dunham (writer, creator, star of Girls) in which she brings on amazing women to talk about love, work, body image, insecurity, friendship, etc. I love hearing the perspectives of women like Emma Stone, Amy Sedaris, June Squibb & many others on subject matter that’s a little taboo and a little impossible to hear anywhere else. Obviously a very female-positive show which is wonderful, and it always fills me with pride & inspiration every time I tune in.
Hope you enjoyed this Fast Five & good luck with some pretty miraculous podcasts!! What are your favorite podcasts? I’d love some recommendations.
P.S. I use the iTunes Podcast app to listen in, but many of these podcasts have websites I’ve linked in the name!
